What is Releasing Writers (thinkSRSD)?
Releasing Writers, formerly known as thinkSRSD, is a writing approach based on the Science of Writing.Using a set of evidence-based writing and self-regulating strategies, students develop their informational, opinion, and narrative writing.
Releasing Writers is appropriate for all students, including students with suspected or diagnosed Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, ADHD, Autism, and executive function deficits.
Tutoring with Releasing Writers
Students first provide a cold writing sample so that we have an example of current writing skills. They are then introduced to the writing cycle for informational, opinion, and narrative writing. With ample tutor modeling and opportunities for independent writing, students become effective written communicators.
