Frequently Asked Questions
What is Orton-Gillingham?
Orton-Gillingham (OG) is an explicit, structured, sequential multisensory approach to reading instruction. The OG approach breaks reading and spelling into smaller skills, then builds upon them with each lesson.
Who do you tutor?
I work with struggling readers and spellers with suspected or identified Dyslexia, ADHD, and Autism. The majority of my students are between 5-12 years old, but I am able to work with students as young as 3.5 and up to 18 years old.

What are your tutoring rates?
In-person tutoring sessions are $88/hour. In-person tutoring sessions are held in the comforts of your home or in the community setting (e.g., coffee shop, library). Rates include travel time, customized lesson planning, materials used, reserved weekly schedule, and student progress updates.
Online sessions via Zoom/KoalaGo are $75/hour. Students will receive the same, high-quality instruction as in-person tutoring. Online tutoring rates include customized planning, digital materials used, reserved weekly schedule, and student progress updates.

What areas do you provide in-person tutoring?
I provide in-person tutoring if you live within 5 miles from me. This may include Anaheim (west of the 5), Buena Park, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, North Huntington Beach, Huntington Harbor, Stanton, and Westminster. If you are not in any of the cities listed, but would like to work with me in-person, please feel free to reach out. I am willing to travel a bit further if it is the right fit.

How much tutoring time do you recommend?
In order to make adequate progress with OG tutoring, I recommend 2 weekly tutoring sessions. Young students may require 30 minute sessions, while older students may be able to handle 60-90 minute sessions. We will discuss tutoring time during our 15-minute phone call, as well as after our Meet & Greet to determine the most effective plan for your child.

Do you accept Charter funds?
I am currently an approved Vendor with Suncoast Prepatory Academy. I'd love to help you on your homeschool journey! Many Charter schools require parents to put in a request for a Vendor. Please let me know if you'd like me to partner with a Charter, and we can work together to get approval!
What learning platform do you use for online tutoring?
I currently use KoalaGo and Zoom for virtual tutoring sessions.

Do you offer summer tutoring?
Yes, I offer summer tutoring. I offer regular OG tutoring or my summer program. The Summer Slide program is an 8-week program designed to reduce skill regression over the summer. Please check back in April 2026 for the list of program options.

Do you offer group tutoring?
Siblings at similar skill levels may be grouped together for tutoring sessions. Please contact me if you have a group that you'd like me to work with and we can discuss further.
