Homeschool Tutoring
Homeschool tutoring can be done virtually or in-person. Students will receive Orton-Gillingham or EBLI (Evidence-Based Literacy Instruction) tutoring for reading, spelling, and writing. Morning and early afternoon times are available for busy schedules and unique homeschool routines.
Homeschool Tutoring Information
Subjects
Reading: I tutor reading using the Orton-Gillingham approach. For young students, this includes phonemic awareness, phonics, spelling, sight words, reading fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. I also provide morphology instruction (affixes, Greek, and Latin roots) to support higher level reading and spelling, vocabulary development, and reading comprehension for older students (3rd and up).

Spelling: Spelling is taught in combination with phonics and/or morphology. Young students are explicitly taught phonics rules, while older students are taught affixes, Latin roots, and Greek roots for spelling. Students apply their phonics or morphology knowledge to spelling.
Writing: For young students, I work on handwriting and letter formation, grammar, and sentence writing. We eventually work up to paragraph writing. For older students, I help them work on narrative, expository, and opinion writing.

Many Charter schools require parents to put in a request for a Vendor. Please let me know if you'd like me to partner with a Charter, and we can work together to get approval!
