Approaches/Programs Used for Tutoring

I use Orton-Gillingham, EBLI, Structured Word Inquiry, and the Word Mapping Project for tutoring morphology, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.

After students are able to decode (sound out words) and read more fluently, providing explicit morphology (knowledge of affixes and Greek and Latin roots) and vocabulary instruction supports higher-level spelling and improves reading comprehension in all subject areas.
